Social Skills Training (TUS) for children

What is TUS all about?
Imagine going to a class where you learn how to be an amazing friend and a super smart emotional detective! That’s kind of what TUS is like. It’s a fun group class where you learn all sorts of cool things, like:
- Becoming a Conversation Star! You’ll learn how to start talking to people, keep a conversation going, and even how to say “no” nicely when you need to.
- Understanding Your Feelings! Ever felt super happy, or maybe a little bit grumpy? TUS helps you understand your own feelings and even guess what others might be feeling too! It’s like having a superpower for emotions!
- Making Friends and Having Fun! This class helps you get along better with your friends, be a great team player, and feel more comfortable in new places.
Who can join the TUS fun?
TUS is for lots of different kids! Maybe you:
- Sometimes find it hard to talk to new people.
- Get a bit shy in groups.
- Find it tricky to know what to do in different social situations.
- Feel really strong emotions sometimes and want to learn how to manage them.
- Just want to become even better at being a good friend and understanding others!
Even if you don’t have a special diagnosis, but you just want to feel more confident socially, TUS can be super helpful!
What happens in a TUS class?
It’s not like boring school! TUS classes are usually small groups of 4 to 7 kids, so you get lots of attention. They’re led by friendly grown-ups who are experts in helping kids with social skills.
And the best part? They use all sorts of fun ways to learn! You might:
- Play games together! Learning through play is the best!
- Do fun exercises!
- Act out different situations! Like practicing how to introduce yourself or how to share.
- Watch cool videos!

Social Skills Training (TUS) for children is a specialised group class designed to support the development of social and emotional skills.
Children learn to recognise and express emotions, build relationships, deal with social situations and improve communication skills.
TUS Objective:
Development of social skills:
TUS helps children acquire skills such as initiating and maintaining conversations, listening, asking questions, saying no, expressing criticism and responding to criticism.
Emotional skills development:
Children learn to recognize and name their own and others’ emotions, regulate emotions, and deal with frustration, anger, fear.
Improving social functioning:
TUS helps children build positive relationships with their peers, get along better in groups, and cope with the difficulties of adapting to new situations.
Who can benefit from TUS?
Children with holistic developmental disorders (ASD), Asperger’s Syndrome (ZA).
Children with ADHD, ADD.
Children with difficulties in communication and social interaction.
Children with difficulties regulating emotions.
Children who are withdrawn, have difficulty adapting to new situations, with low self-esteem, not accepted by the group.
Children who do not have a diagnosis, but experience difficulties in social functioning.
What does TUS look like?
Classes are conducted in a peer group (usually 4-7 people).
Trainings are conducted by qualified specialists (psychologists, educators, occupational therapists).
Various methods are used in the classes, including integration games, exercises, role-playing, analysis of videos and educational materials.
Classes often take the form of play so that children can develop social and emotional skills in a friendly manner.
